Back to Hemsedal to do some on- and off-piste skiing.
View from Totten (1494 m).
Skiing slopes as seen from Røgjin with the Totten in the left.
On a snowy morning close to Hemsedal.
Trolltunet (Troll yard) with several timber cabins.
This one was ours.
Interior is decorated with a troll theme in hallingstil.
Vegetating while waiting for the weather to improve.
It eventually improved at noon. Parking place Vavatn.
Short afternoon ski-touring trip to Harahorn.
Sun is peeping from behind the clouds.
Panorama of Oset cabins and Vavatn Lake.
Gentle slope at the beginning.
An intrudor ...
Andreas and the Vavatn.
The path gets eventually steeper.
On the ridge.
Summit of the Harahorn (1581 m).
Last part of the trip on foot.
It looked a bit too dangerous to continue to the summit.
Panorama towards the northwest with Såta in the distance.
Panorama towards the southeast.
Ski slopes in the distance with Sven and Danka somewhere there.
Making of Spätzle, traditional Southern-German dish, with Spätzle-making device in the evening.
Caramelising onions.
:O (Photos: Simon)
The ninth participant; Lila.
Everybody could experience the art of cooking Spätzle.
Spätzle before adding caramelised onion and gratinating them with cheese.
The dinner is ready. Thanks to our German cooks Sven and Andreas.
Sarah was so impressed by the Spätzle-cooking that she portrayed trollified cooks.
Trolified participants.
And non-trolified participants at Trolltunet. Simon, Sarah, Danka, Andreas, Helene, Nitin, Jaroš and Sven.
Afternoon ski touring trip to Storebottskarvet before departure back to Oslo.
Sunny and cold weather ...
... and forest full of powder.
Mørkedalen from a treeline.
Andreas and cloud iridescence forming in small cloud crystals.
Simon and Danka joining from another parking space.
It became very windy above the treeline.
Slowly progressing towards the highest top of Storebottskarvet (1719 m) on the left.
Simon came up with an idea.
He started putting on harness.
But Andreas kept on going.
Up through the powder.
Here comes Simon ...
cheating with his kite :)
The summit and blowing snow.
Windchill temperature was probably around -25 °C.
Gaining some more elevation.
Through blowing snow ...
Stopping few tens of elevation metres under the summit in the "mountain slipstream".
Getting ready for skiing back.
