Skredfjellet 28.-29.2. 2020

Starting the ski touring season in Sogndal this year as well with Thorben and Paula.

While it was still snowing when we started from the parking place in Berge ...

... the weather started to improve.

Evening sun rays hit us while ascending on the slopes above Heimastølen.

Quite a decent amount of new powder was promising enjoyable descent.

But we are heading to 500m lower Skredfjellet instead.

Already on the ridge that took us to the Skredfjellet.

Middagshaugen on the other end of the ridge is usually a part of this trip, but we didn't have enough time to go there.

We made it before the darkness.

Mundalsdalen on the other side of the Fjærlandsfjorden.

The summit is known to have a spectacular view over the fjord.

It started snowing again.

Unexpected snow during the night increased avalanche danger so we stayed below the tree-line.
