Evening mists after rain in Mysusæter.
Rondane Mountains.
Cloudless morning next day. And a long walk to the foot of the mountain.
Some take a bike to the hut.
Rondane national park. Smiubelgin, Storsmeden and Velesmeden.
Storsmeden closeup.
Rondvatnet lake.
Patterned ground beside the road.
Here begins the ascent to Storronden.
Still a lot of snow around (in nivation hollows) in June, although this side of Norway gets considerably less precipitation than western Norway.
Very well developed cryoplanation terraces.
Taking the left path.
Not a too joyful walk over weathered rocks boulders.
Interesting trenches between weathered stones.
A sign for a DNT trail.
Almost at the top.
Panorama of the top and interesting stone forms of precambrian quartzite slate.
Langbotn valley.
The cirque lake.
Jotunheimen
Dovrefjell
The highest mountain of Rondane is Rondslottet (2178 m).
Muen somewhere in the distance: http://www.jarosobu.net/index.php/event/VenabygdsfjelletandGrovelsjoen
Simubelgin, Storsmeden and Veselsmeden.
A look down the walked path.
Rondvatnet Lake.
Dammed by an alluvial fan.
Rondvassbu hut.
It looks more like a hotel than a hut.
Nearby Kaldbekken Waterfall.
Checking out the cryoplanation terraces before it starts to rain.
Almost parallel to the slope.
Some are still covered with a lot of snow.
Lenticular clouds in the evening after the rain.
Ula River Canyon.
Sheep are impressed by the view.
Otta
Visiting the Ringebu stave church before returning to Oslo.
Stave churches were typical medieval wooden Christian sacral building in north-western Europe.
