A ridge of Zeppelin mountain starts on a moraine close to the shooting range of Ny-Ålesund.

The "holy" atmospheric observatory below the "Holy" Mountain. Human presence can disturb very sensitive atmospheric measurements so only observers are alowed to approach the station, which is otherwise accesible with cable car.
